Kate Moss in W Magazine

Good Katie vs Bad Katie is the theme of W Magazine’s edition where proverbial supermodel Kate Moss is on the cover. I think they couldn’t have captured her ethereal beauty and dangerous allure any better than in this photoshoot. The haunting images composed of Celine accessories, Miu Miu shoes, Comme des Garçons’ floral dresses, Alexander McQueen, The Row, and Oscar dela Renta are just after the jump. Read more…

Elle Fanning for Teen Vogue

via Stylite.com

How cute is Elle Fanning on the cover of Teen Vogue? The cover with her in a red Miu Miu dress is just a sign of more delightful Elle Fanning in the editorial. Unlike this other very controversial Vogue spread, Elle said she’d rather look like a two year old than a twenty one year old. Wise beyond her years this little cupcake. Read more…

Red Carpet-Worthy Tutu Dresses

via celebrific

Okay, just for a moment stop thinking of Bjork’s infamous Swan Dress just because I mentioned tutu dresses? Although, if you can’t I really can’t blame you. That moment when she pulled an egg from underneath her is still seared in my memory. But don’t fret, there are other tutu dresses that have walked the red carpet that are stylishly wild but didn’t involved wild life. Read more…

Small is the New Big

via Telegraph.co.uk

It looks like the next big thing will come in pint size as more and more designer labels such as Lanvin, Gucci (lead by Jennifer Lopez and her twins) and Missoni are branching out to junior sizes. There’s also the trend of having teenagers as the new faces of these brands as seen by Elle Fanning and Hailee Steinfeld becoming the spokeperson for Marc Jacobs and Miu Miu. Personally, I don’t really think that we should be dressing our kids in couture nor should we be spending that much on clothes that they’ll outgrow after a few months.

Elle Fanning Crying on the Cover of LOVE Magazine

She’s the new face of Marc Jacobs and now Elle Fanning is gracing the cover of fashion bible LOVE magazine. Elle is photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot, who also shot Rachel Weisz’s Bulgari ad. LOVE will be having eight different covers, all of which will feature teenage Hollywood superstars such as Kick-Ass’s Chloe Moretz and Miu Miu’s new model Hailee Steinfeld.

Hailee Steinfeld is the New Face of Miu Miu

via Huffington Post

When I found out that 14-year old and Academy Award nominee Hailee Steinfeld is the new face of Miu Miu, I though that fashion houses are after the kids aren’t they? Especially with another lovely young lady, Elle Fanning, doing Marc Jacob’s Fall 2011 campaign. Is this another manifestation of the fashion industry’s obsession with youth? In any case, I think Hailee looked lovely in the photographs, but I also forgot that she was a 14-year old kid. The colors and the 40s style plus those killer heels, just made me want to ask where that pretty girl in her pink gown and Chuck Taylor’s go?

Miu Miu’s Crystal Platform Heels

via Net-a-Porter

I do not even have the words for this platform peep toe pumps from Miu Miu. Crystal heels, peep toe, suede, silver platforms, it’s like a disco diva’s dream of a shoe. I totally agree with Net-a-Porter’s styling suggestions on this one, except maybe I’ll add a jacket to the ensemble. From what I’ve been seeing these days starting with Versus’ glittered-heel shoes, it’s all about the glitz for shoes this season. So better bring out those sequin shoes, gold shoes, silver pumps and red glitter shoes and start strutting them.

Elle Fanning is High Fashion’s New Muse

via Marie Claire

She’s just captivated everyone, including the world of high fashion. Look at her looking all mod with feathers, mini dress by Dior and a pair of pale green Mary Jane pumps by Alberta Feretti. And those gold shoes by Miu Miu is just amazing. I loved her in Sofia Coppola’s Somewhere (Sofia being a good friend of designer Marc Jacobs, the two Fanning girls being part of Jacob’s ads, six degrees of separation) so I’m looking forward to her new movie Super 8, although I’m sure J.J Abrams would disappoint me with a ridiculously implausible ending.

A Red Heels Obsession

Since I wrote that post about red high heels, I’ve been on an online red heels expedition. I’ve been browsing through numerous online shops for the latest shoe designs because I was so inspired by that article. One of my finds is this very interesting movie titled The Red Shoes made way back 1948, but may look terribly familiar to you because of its uncanny similarity to this Oscar winning movie. Slipping on Silver Sandals

062 - Silver Sandals!

I’ve talked about about gold sandals on a previous post and I think it’s only fair that when you talk about one precious metal, you should talk about the other. So you know what’s coming. That’s right. A post about silver sandals. Read more…
