i-Like: Beyonce and Baby Blue Ivy Play Cat and Mouse

via NYMag.com

How cute are those matching shoes by Beyonce and her daughter Blue Ivy? While mom wears a ballet flat with feline motif (a tame leopard print shoes?), newest Hollywood baby Blue Ivy is wearing one with a mouse motif [UPDATE: The mouse shoes are from Marc Jacobs]. Maybe soon she’ll join the ranks of Hollywood baby celebs wearing salt water sandals?

i-Like: Ballet Meets Fashion

via out.com

Look at those boys flying around in Hermes. This got me thinking that male models should study ballet to understand movement in photographs. These male ballet dancers, leaped their way in designer outfits such as H&M, Tom Ford, Dior Homme, and Lanvin just to name a few. Thank goodness no mantyhose in sight. Read more…

i-Like: Nicholas Kirkwood Florence and the Machine-inspired Shoe

via Fashionista.com

Ponytails were all over the Fall runway, but it wasn’t just found on the models‘ hair. Shoe designer incorporated the ponytail trend in one of his shoes. And it looks really cool. I can’t wait to see this featured in an editorial. He says the design was inspired by Jean Cocteau and Elsa Schiaparelli while the hair color was inspired by singer and fashionista, Florence and the Machine. See the entire collection here.

i-Like: Tine De Ruysser’s Bank Notes Jewelry

via ecouterre.com

Well this is a good way to hide and show off your money at the same time. Belgian artist Tine De Ruysser collects different bank notes from all over the world and carefully folds them into jewelry. Using origami skills, the artists creates pieces such as necklaces and bracelets with interesting shapes and shades. Forget about hip hop jewelry with all its bling. If you really want to show everyone what you’re worth, gotta show them some paper.

Eye popping dresses are now a reality. Thanks to Taiwanese designer Nouio who has created a line of 3D clothes for his brand noumenon. Can you imagine wearing 3D clothes in a party? A couple of margaritas and a few mojitos plus 3D clothes and every guest wearing 3D glasses, make for one trippy party.

noumenon’s garments combine art, technology and fashion in the use of 3D imagery on fabric. The Taiwan based brand combines futuristic aesthetics and classic silhouettes to create a unique signature style.

i-Like: Day2Night Convertible Heels

Remember the convertible shoe I mentioned in the low heel shoes post? Consider the Day2Night convertible heels an updated more sophisticated system than that shoe. Basically, you have a set of heels with different heights that you can screw on and off your shoe depending on your preferences (or how sore your leg muscles are). Pretty nifty huh?

i-Like: What Makes True Love

What an adorable way to sell some art deco engagement rings or cushion cut engagement rings this Christmas. Tiffany’s What Makes True Love video asks kids the question “What Makes True Love?” And you know kids, they don’t lie. So when they say that what makes true love is buying that person a person, you know you have to buy that person some expensive jewelry.

i-Like: Janie Taylor for Chloe

Janie Taylor for ChloƩ on Nowness.com.

I just watched Cate Blanchett’s Actor’s Studio interview where she talks about how she’s inspired by dance. I think her words were when words are distilled to movement. That pretty much sums up this wonderful video for Chloe’s SS 2011 starring Prima Ballerina Janie Taylor. I know it’s an oldie, but still worth watching.

i-Like: Making of the 2012 Pirelli Calendar

Models in barely nothing and even in their birthday suits. What’s there not to like? But seriously, I like these behind the scenes videos simply because it shows that not every photoshoot is an America’s Next Top Model shoot. Drama should be in the photo and not on the set.

The calendar featuring supermodels Kate Moss, Lara Stone, Milla Jovovich, and Joan Smalls among other famous names is shot by photographer Mario Sorrenti

i-Like: The Christian Louboutin Story by NET-A-PORTER.COM

This just goes on to show how even designers have their own Cinderella moments. Net-a-Porter’s interpretation of Christian Louboutin‘s fairy tale is so cute. The animation made sure of that of course. Highlights for me include mentions of the fashion land that is Paris, a trusty steed is a Vespa, and Grace freaking-fashion-personified Jones. But is it just me or did it not mention Christian’s evil step sister Yves who’s after his red soles? Read more about CL’s bio in Designers i-Like.

i-Like: Bespoke Items

via Telegraph.co.uk

I think the only time I’ve posted something about bespoke was about the bespoke Krispy Kreme donuts they had for London Fashion Week. So I was delightfully surprised when I read this article. I think this is such a great idea as gifts. Not just for yourself (because you know you deserve something bespoke) but to your family as well. I’m sure they wouldn’t mid getting something bespoke from Anya Hindmarch now would they?

i-Like: Behind the Scenes of Duran Duran’s Girl Panic Video

Remember this Harper’s Bazaar cover? Those same supermodels will be in Duran Duran’s upcoming video for their song Girl Panic. It’s basically these bombshells being Duran Duran. See Naomi Campbell rocking the cropped hair and the microphone? I can’t wait how this turns out.

i-Like: Knit Sweaters. Save the Penguins.

via The Frisky

Look at these hipster penguins. No, I’m just kidding. This is actually a very serious effort to save the penguins near the east coast of New Zealand where a devastating oil spill threatens their lives. Crafters and knit enthusiasts all over the world have sent in their penguin sweaters to help the little guys stay warm and to prevent them from ingesting oil from their feathers. If you want to help save the penguins with oh-so-adorable sweaters, maybe even hoodies, a zip sweater, or whatever else you can knit you can find more information on where to send them here.

i-Like: Christian Louboutin Book by Rizolli

via Fshionista

I don’t really know which I love more about the new Christian Louboutin book. That it’s a book about shoes or that it has a foreword by John Malkovich. Either way this coffee table book tells the tale of a the red soled shoes we have come to love (and covet). I wonder if the brand’s row with YSL is going to be included? Read parts of the book here.

i-Like: One Moment Multi-Purpose Shoes

via NotCouture

It’s terribly hard to get what these shoes are for even after looking at their website because it’s in Spanish and even the video doesn’t help either. But all we need to know is that it’s multi-purpose, 100 percent biodegradable and gives you that barefoot sensation. I think it’s awesome if you’re travelling. Instead of using flip flops you can use these babies.
