It’s quite colorful in the Carter household, with Beyonce‘s daughter Blue Ivy being welcomed into the world, with proud daddy Jay-Z singing in his new track Glory, “Baby I’ll paint the sky blue. My most greatest creation was you.” But now, a new color enters the picture with critics accusing Beyonce of being too “white” in the promotional image of her new album “Four.” It’s not the first time however that she got flak for being a few shades lighter than her normal skin tone. I heard this song today and I remembered how much I wanted that inappropriately sheer dress that Courtney Love wore in this video. Now Melissa Auf der Maur’s shredded dress is also back in fashion. Looking at this video right now and man, Ke$ha got schooled by Courtney (distressed clothing, white tops, sheer tops, a few glitters is all it needs to be a Ke$ha video). And Beyonce, I’m so sorry, the trailer couture thing, yeah, Courtney and band already did that.
Although she’s being accused of plagiarism again in this new video, Beyonce‘s Countdown is still a joy to watch. The shoes she wore in the video got my attention of course. It was refreshing to see her in black loafers, brogue shoes and hot pink shoes.

The first time momma is snapped here in an all gold ensemble starting with her cascading gold-ish hair, a gold, sequined dress with belt and I can’t tell if it’s also gold shoes that she’s wearing or are those tan shoes, but no matter, it fits right in the color scheme.

After announcing her pregnancy in style at the previous MTV Video Music Awards, Beyonce was snapped with her husband Jay-Z in Italy, where she celebrated her 30th birthday. She looked absolutely lovely with that printed maxi dress with the gold halter. But wait a minute, are those platform heels I see peaking out from under her skirt? I hope it’s not 6 inch heels, or else she may suffer the same fate as Victoria Beckham did with her slip disc and all. Anyway, as always, Jay-Z was low key with a white button down shirt, jeans and white sneakers.

And what better to announce your pregnancy than in a bright orange Lanvin gown? She looked positively radiant. I wonder if her kid would join other Hollywood babies and wear salt water sandals too? Congratulations to the both of them.

Maybe it was because of that holographic Burberry runway show, but all these hi-tech presentations are getting to me. Although Beyonce was accused of copying Italian popstar Lorella Cuccarini’s performance for a music awards show in her homeland, Beyonce looked so much better in that ultra revealing macrame dress for her performance. She also looked amazing in the red carpet in a little black dress by Lanvin and silver pumps by Christian Louboutin.
