Believe it or Not: Snooki vs McQueen

via fashionista.com

To even mention Snooki and Alexander McQueen in the same sentence makes me cringe. Even more so after seeing the Jersey Shore’s attempt at referencing – and that’s putting it lightly – an iconic McQueen staple in her design. Although this is not the first case of extreme referencing in fashion (i.e Christian Louboutin vs YSL, Derek Lam vs Ivanka Trump, Karl Lagerfeld vs Pamela Love), this is certainly the weirdest so far.

Yes or Mess: Anna Kendrick in McQ

via thefashion-court.com

Anna Kendrick looked great in a red paisley/floral dress by McQ, a diffusion line of Alexander McQueen. The leather sash slash corset is genius. It’s just the right amount of soft (floral print) and hard (leather) elements. The Brian Atwood peep toe heels is the finishing touch to this outfit.

Kate Moss in W Magazine

Good Katie vs Bad Katie is the theme of W Magazine’s edition where proverbial supermodel Kate Moss is on the cover. I think they couldn’t have captured her ethereal beauty and dangerous allure any better than in this photoshoot. The haunting images composed of Celine accessories, Miu Miu shoes, Comme des Garçons’ floral dresses, Alexander McQueen, The Row, and Oscar dela Renta are just after the jump. Read more…

Yes or Mess: Cate Blanchett in Alexander McQueen

Dresses made of gold is like something that can only come out of a fairy tale. And what girl would pass off the chance to be a princess? Certainly not Cate Blanchett who looks so stunning in this Alexander McQueen gold dress as she stepped out of the red carpet at the recent Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) Awards. Proof that every princess should have Sarah Burton as their fairy godmother. Oh wait, they do.

Princess Diana’s Dresses to be Auctioned Off

via Telegraph.co.uk

Five of Princess Diana’s most iconic dresses will be up for auction this coming March, as part of a £12million refurbishment of Kensington Palace. It will show dresses designed by her favorite designers such as Bellville Sassoon, Catherine Walker, and David Emanuel. The latter designed a black cocktail dress for Lady Di that’s very similar to something Kate Middleton wore (an Alexander McQueen) when she was out at an event with husband Prince William, and her brother-in-law Prince Harry.

Metallic Shoes for the New Year

via styloko.com

The upcoming New Year always make me think about the future. of what designers will come up with this season, if Lady Gaga will have another alter ego, if Pippa will be the new Kate Middleton, if Angelina Jolie will adopt another kid, and if the America’s Top Model curse will finally be over. But mostly, what shoe I’d wear for the party. Right now, my head is swirling with metallic shoes. Read more…

All I Want for Christmas is a Red Cocktail Dress

via Net-a-Porter

The chaos that is Black Friday never fails to remind us that Christmas is just a few weeks away. It’s the time for giving gifts and receiving them. So this post is more like an open letter to everyone saying: These are the things that I want.

Aside from Lady Gaga‘s Christmas stockings (which I am absolutely gaga with) from her Gaga’s Workshop at Barney’s, the one thing that I really want this Christmas is a good old red cocktail dress. Nothing says Holidays than a nice red dress don’t you think? If that’s also your plan, here are a few ideas on how to pick the perfect red cocktail dress for you. Read more…

Floral Dresses Are Blooming

via glamyou.co.uk

Let’s start this post off with a bit of trivia shall we? The dress above belonged to a very famous movie star. She’s been cited by many other stylish superstars as their fashion inspiration. She’s probably in all of the top fashion icons list ever made. And this dress? This dress could be the floral dress of all floral dresses simply because she wore it. Read more…

i-Like: Alexander McQueen Skull Scarves for Halloween

Perfect thing for Halloween. This short video from director and photographer Babette Pauthier shows off what could be the most coveted accessory this season – Alexander McQueen’s skull printed scarves. The video kind of reminds me between a cross of looking through a kaleidoscope and a moving Rorscharch test.

Gold Heels – Literally

There was one shoe in the lace up heels post that got my attention and hanged on to it. The black lace up heels with gold plated chunky heels was the subject of my daydreams for days on end from the moment that I saw it. It was simple. It was chic. It was arresting. So I decided to make a whole post about gold heels. No, not gold shoes, just heels. Literally, just gold heels.

Gold Heels and Glitter

If there was ever a more literal translation of the term “glitz and glamour” it would these pair of shoes. Made with gold heels and peppered with sparklies, that only means it’s time to put your vintage sunglasses on because this is going to be shiny. Read more…

Queen Spooked by Kate’s Alexander McQueen Wedding Gown

via Yahoo

With it looking like that wouldn’t you be? Right now, Sarah Burton‘s creation is on display at the palace as part of a summer exhibition that runs until October 3.

The Alexander McQueen wedding gown that wowed the world when Kate Middleton officially became Duchess of Cambridge, was reported to have spooked the Queen when she was taken on a private tour of the exhibition by her daughter-in-law. Or it could just be the Queen doing what all in-laws do, criticizing every little thing that their daughters-in-law do. I kid of course, but only slightly.

T Bar Shoes Are THE Party Shoes

When I see t bar shoes, I immediately think of the 1920s. The flapper era, when everyone knew how to party. So whenever I see anyone wearing t bar shoes, my brain quickly follows this line of thinking: T bar shoes = fun-loving gal. Read more…

A Red Heels Obsession

Since I wrote that post about red high heels, I’ve been on an online red heels expedition. I’ve been browsing through numerous online shops for the latest shoe designs because I was so inspired by that article. One of my finds is this very interesting movie titled The Red Shoes made way back 1948, but may look terribly familiar to you because of its uncanny similarity to this Oscar winning movie.
