How cute are those matching shoes by Beyonce and her daughter Blue Ivy? While mom wears a ballet flat with feline motif (a tame leopard print shoes?), newest Hollywood baby Blue Ivy is wearing one with a mouse motif [UPDATE: The mouse shoes are from Marc Jacobs]. Maybe soon she’ll join the ranks of Hollywood baby celebs wearing salt water sandals?

Look at those boys flying around in Hermes. This got me thinking that male models should study ballet to understand movement in photographs. These male ballet dancers, leaped their way in designer outfits such as H&M, Tom Ford, Dior Homme, and Lanvin just to name a few. Thank goodness no mantyhose in sight. Read more…

Ponytails were all over the Fall runway, but it wasn’t just found on the models‘ hair. Shoe designer incorporated the ponytail trend in one of his shoes. And it looks really cool. I can’t wait to see this featured in an editorial. He says the design was inspired by Jean Cocteau and Elsa Schiaparelli while the hair color was inspired by singer and fashionista, Florence and the Machine. See the entire collection here.

i-Like: Richard Nicoll x Vodafone Mobile Phone-Charging Handbag

via Telegraph.co.uk

On the outside it looks like your ordinary, top-of-the-line, it bag. But this collaboration from Richard Nicoll and Vodafone is more than just a designer handbag, it’s a mobile-charging handbag. Unlike other bags that uses solar panels, this bag can be directly charged via induction charging. A cable can be attached magnetically on the exterior of the bag to begin storing power. You can use it to charge any Blackberry, iPhone, or Android phones. Just imagine the next vintage handbag can power up your devices.

This is the second season that we’ve partnered with Vodafone and we wanted to create a collaborative product that fused technology and fashion, and that was relevant for both of us – so we came up with the idea of doing a charging bag that charges your mobile device on the go, which is especially relevant for my collection this season, because it’s all about the notion of work and all its facets in modern times. – Richard Nicoll

Well this is a good way to hide and show off your money at the same time. Belgian artist Tine De Ruysser collects different bank notes from all over the world and carefully folds them into jewelry. Using origami skills, the artists creates pieces such as necklaces and bracelets with interesting shapes and shades. Forget about hip hop jewelry with all its bling. If you really want to show everyone what you’re worth, gotta show them some paper.

i-Like: The True Vintage Handbag by Leonardo da Vinci

via artinfo.com

Scientist, painter, and now handbag designer. Leonardo da Vinci seems to be the original multi-hyphenated artist. This sketch of the Pretiosa handbag by the famed Mona Lisa painter was made some 400 years ago in 1497. And judging by the intricate design in the leather plus the ornate hardware, it can easily be one of the opulent vintage handbag that Alexander McQueen would have in a collection today. Read more…

i-Like: Day2Night Convertible Heels

Remember the convertible shoe I mentioned in the low heel shoes post? Consider the Day2Night convertible heels an updated more sophisticated system than that shoe. Basically, you have a set of heels with different heights that you can screw on and off your shoe depending on your preferences (or how sore your leg muscles are). Pretty nifty huh?

i-Like: About Face

In an industry where 14 years old is the new norm, this documentary about the fashion industry and aging could be likened to a dooms day prophecy. In this sneak peek of About Face you can see Jerry Hall, Paulina Porizkova, Isabella Rosellini, Marisa Berenson, and Carmen Dell-Orefice.

About Face is a step back in time to a glamorous, yet complicated, era when drugs were rampant and women were routinely harassed and mistreated. The divergent attitudes among the women about everything from the business of modeling, to aging and plastic surgery, are fascinating and priceless.

i-Like: What Makes True Love

What an adorable way to sell some art deco engagement rings or cushion cut engagement rings this Christmas. Tiffany’s What Makes True Love video asks kids the question “What Makes True Love?” And you know kids, they don’t lie. So when they say that what makes true love is buying that person a person, you know you have to buy that person some expensive jewelry.

Janie Taylor for ChloƩ on Nowness.com.

I just watched Cate Blanchett’s Actor’s Studio interview where she talks about how she’s inspired by dance. I think her words were when words are distilled to movement. That pretty much sums up this wonderful video for Chloe’s SS 2011 starring Prima Ballerina Janie Taylor. I know it’s an oldie, but still worth watching.

i-Like: Making of the 2012 Pirelli Calendar

Models in barely nothing and even in their birthday suits. What’s there not to like? But seriously, I like these behind the scenes videos simply because it shows that not every photoshoot is an America’s Next Top Model shoot. Drama should be in the photo and not on the set.

The calendar featuring supermodels Kate Moss, Lara Stone, Milla Jovovich, and Joan Smalls among other famous names is shot by photographer Mario Sorrenti

This baby kangaroo is so posh, its pouch is Louis Vuitton. I dare say this is cooler than Angelina Jolie‘s LV ad. i-Like: Victoria’s Secret Models (Trying to) Sing Jingle Bells

We all need some Holiday spirit now that Christimas is fast approaching. So where better to get it from than the Victoria’s Secret supermodels? This heart-warming video may seem like just a few supermodels fumbling with the words of a well-known Christmas carol. But, no. It shows us that supermodels are human too. They can’t do everything. How’s that for some Xmas cheer? However, they do look cute in everything. I mean, how cute is Adriana Lima telling the people behind the camera that she will get that one line right? That’s supermodel determination people. More Adriana Lima after the jump. Read more…
