You might be wondering why I have a photo of vintage sunglasses when I’m talking about hair. No, I didn’t make a mistake, because this pair is made of hair. Hair Glasses by Studio Swine is “a collection of sustainable fashion eyewear” all made from human hair. Read more…

Cuff Bracelets are Coco Chanel Approved

via Elle

When someone like Coco Chanel says cuffs are great, who are we to argue? I mean just look at how elegant that is. Strings of pearls, black dress and white cuffs. Elle.com has called it when they said that cuffs are a “powerful accessory” (remember that silver cuff bracelet?) so stack ‘em up and feel the fashion power.

Nerd Glasses in Pop Culture

Over the past few years it seems that there have been a resurgence of nerd fashion, starting with too-big-for-your-face, black rimmed eyeglasses. And because I haven’t done a music slash video post in a while, I’d like to take this opportunity to take you through pop culture’s most popular nerd glasses.

Buddy Holly. Critics have regarded Buddy Holly as one of the most influentials figure in rock and roll, influencing later rock acts like The Beatles, Bob Dylan and The Rolling Stones. The band Weezer made a song titled Buddy Holly, with their Harvard educated frontman Rivers Cuomo who is a spitting image of Buddy Holly. Read more…

Kim Kardashian’s $2M Engagement Ring

via Celebuzz

Love really doesn’t come cheap. New Jersey Net’s Kris Humphries put a $2 million, 20.5 carat art deco engagement ring on Kim Kardashian‘s finger just a little over a few days ago. TMZ reports that there are Bible verses inscribed in the ring (Check out the actual verses here) that are both special to Kim and Kris. Now Kim is walking around all over town (here, here, here) with her massive, and I mean Hip Hop jewelry-has-nothing-on-this massive, engagement ring. Other stars with art deco engagement rings include Reese Witherspoon and Camilla Parker Bowles.

Think Bling: Hip Hop Jewelry

via IntergalacticGolf

When I think of jewelry there are only two things I think about – engagement rings and rappers. Both have to be big and shiny in order to make a big impact. And if an engagement ring needs an over the moon happy fiance to make it shine brighter, hip hop jewelry needs the panache of a rapper to get “bling” status. Read more…

StyleTube: Boy by Mariah Carey

First off, I didn’t know whether to put this under I-Like because Will Yun Lee is like super hot and well, I like that. So this maybe an old video of Mariah Carey from her Charmbracelet album (note the emphasis on the sterling silver charm bracelet), but I sort of remembered it because orange seems to be coming back in style these days, in clothes as well as make up.

StyleTube: You’ll be Mine by The Pierces

The video looked so occult it reminded me of a previous post about silver charm bracelets. And I love The Pierces they’re just fashionista through and through. It’s kind of cool also that you get two different styles from an almost same look when they dress up. Their song Secret is also the opening song for the show Pretty Little Liars. I can’t tell if those are low heel boots she’s wearing in the Secret video, but Aria (Lucy Hale) in PLL definitely loves her low heel boots, see here, here, and here.

I-Like: NecoMimi

Is this the new mood ring? Necomimi which literally translates to cat (neko) ears (mimi) is a pair of electronic cat’s ears headband that synchronizes with your brainwaves, detecting changes in your moods and emotions and moves accordingly. My guy friends think this is the perfect gift for their girlfriends. Their reason? So they immediately know when they did something wrong.

Looking Through Vintage Sunglasses

Vintage Bolle Sunglasses 13
I don’t really know what it is exactly about vintage accessories that makes it extremely fashion forward, when it should really be the opposite. Aren’t they suppose to be old and outdated? But here they are, gracing runways, fashion editorials and more importantly street fashion, more popular than they were back when they first came out.

Art Deco Engagement Rings for the Not So Simple Bride

Anillo Art Deco en Platino telf. +34 914505952
Alright, granted that no bride is ever going to be a simple bride – I mean all you have to do is ask a wedding planner or watch shows like Bridezillas to confirm that – I would then go out on a limb and conclude that no engagement ring would also be just a simple engagement ring.

The 5Cs of Cushion Cut Engagement Rings

"Santa Maria" Cushion cut aquamarine ring
Remember how he thought it was a good idea to pay the waiter to put your beautiful cushion cut engagement ring inside your favorite dessert before serving it, as he watches your every bite, anticipating that moment when you’ll eventually find the engagement ring of all cushion cut engagement rings tucked between layers of scrumptious chocolate cake, but instead got panic-stricken when you almost choked on your own engagement ring, and how you still think it was the silliest and most romantic proposal ever? Definitely one for the grandkids.

The Tale of Wholesale

via PeacefulPeople

When it comes to purchasing or selling wholesale bracelets, there is no such thing as too much of a good thing. Here are some tips on how to start a wholesale jewelry business, to turn your passion into a profitable endeavor.

Once upon a time there was wholesale…

The best way to begin this tale is to start answering the question: What is wholesale? Simply put wholesale means buying or selling in bulk. No, not how you usually shop wherein you get one of each item on the rack. What I mean by bulk is that you get a lot of the same items in one purchase. In the case of wholesale bracelets, you’re buying bracelets of the same style which you will then sell retail or build new styles upon.
