Recap: America’s Next Top Model Cycle 18 Episode 3

via homorazzi.com

  • Tell me I wasn’t the only one cringing with the whole superhero-naming-Modelland-promotion bit? Testostero? Zagilicious? Charismia? Next-Doorsia? Worst was that everyone was taking it so seriously. I need me to get Sheenafyed away from all this nonsense right now.

Miranda Kerr as Jackie O in Harper’s Bazaar Shoot by Terry Richardson

via Dailymail.co.uk

Victoria’s Secret Angel Miranda Kerr looked divine channeling style icon Jackie O in this shoot for Harper’s Bazaar lensed by Terry Richardson. This must be what America’s Next Top Model Cycle 18 wanted to do in their pilot episode. Miranda isn’t copying Jackie O she’s interpreting for a photoshoot. I love the fifties look (wouldn’t Kenley be giddy if she saw these dresses) with the hair all poofed out. Read more…

Lana del Rey Releases Cover Art for New Single Blue Jean Over Twitter

via Dailymail.co.uk

Lana del Rey Tweeted this photo of her in a white dress (again), lying on the ground with a man’s arm covered with tattoos placed right around her neck. The risque photo is reportedly the cover art for her new single Blue Jeans. I am digging this photo. The light streaks makes it look like she’s underwater. Looking forward to the video.

i-Like: Beyonce and Baby Blue Ivy Play Cat and Mouse

via NYMag.com

How cute are those matching shoes by Beyonce and her daughter Blue Ivy? While mom wears a ballet flat with feline motif (a tame leopard print shoes?), newest Hollywood baby Blue Ivy is wearing one with a mouse motif [UPDATE: The mouse shoes are from Marc Jacobs]. Maybe soon she’ll join the ranks of Hollywood baby celebs wearing salt water sandals?

Is SmoothGroove the Next Fashion Essential?

via Telegraph.co.uk

Just by looking at the photo above, can you tell what it is? Hint. The answer is hidden in the product’s name. No? SmoothGroove is sort of what the nipple tape is for down there, if you get my drift. It makes sure that you don’t commit one of the worst (and embarrassing) fashion mistake out there – the camel tore. Marc Jacobs‘ prayers have now been answered. Read more…

Watch: Second Video of The Serial Designer by Jean Paul Gaultier for Diet Coke

Jean Paul Gaultier and Diet Coke is back with another, uhm, interesting video from The Night & Day Serial Designer series. This once features Bernadette who had a rough night and is preparing for a job interview. Of course, Jean Paul worked his designer magic and transformed the hungover doll into something as bubbly as Diet Coke. All the videos so far are interesting to watch, but I still don’t get what it’s trying to say.

Jessica Biel in W Magazine

via Stylefrizz.com

Jessica Biel on the cover of W Magazine is like that time Paris Hilton was on Vanity Fair for no apparent reason. How is soon-to-be-Mrs.Timberlake relevant recently again? Sure she got engaged, but so did a lot of other people. I’m just confused right now. And I’m guessing so is W Magazine. Read more…

Recap: Fashion Star Pilot Episode

via ibtimes.com

I recently read a bad review of the latest fashion reality TV show Fashion Star which made me watch it. Typical “bad publicity is good publicity,” I know.

via tv.com

Fashion Star opened with girls in lingerie on top of Harley-Davidson motorcycles while fireworks on the stage threaten to burn them in their skivvies all to the tune of American Woman (And Elle isn’t even American!). The confusion begins here. Did I just change the channel? Was I watching X-Factor? But it turns out the opening number was just to showcase Elle Macpherson’s lingerie line as well as a weak lead in to the show’s 101. Read more…

Chelsea Tyler is “Hot and Humid” on Page Six

via Dailymail.co.uk

She’s got model looks and rock n’ roll genes. Chelsea Tyler – in her dad’s own words – is looking “hot and humid” as she poses for these racy pictures in New York Post’s Page Six magazine. She talks about how to deal with being the daughter of someone famous, how she sought to be anonymous, and how she always hears “she looks like Steven Tyler.”

People stop me out of the blue a lot. That’s pretty much all I ever get: You look exactly like Steven Tyler. - Chelsea Tyler

No Zoe for Bravo?

How can this happening when the season finale held so much promise? I’m not too thrilled with seeing Mandana again, but c’mon, Skyler’s closet and Jeremiah’s biceps are worth seeing for a whole new season. Rumor has it that The Rachel Zoe project won’t be cancelled but is instead returning in a different format.

Bravo and Zoe are in talks about a new and freshened-up concept for a fifth season, sources say. An announcement could come at the network’s April upfront in New York.

Thoughts on America’s Next Top Model British Invasion Episode 2: Shakeovers

  • Really, Tyra? Hacked emails? Not enough eye rolls for this lead in.
  • Props to ANTM for always including lesbian and bi-sexual contestants. I just wish that they don’t suffer the same stereotyping that Kayla had. I remember during All-Stars when she was just fed up by always being the token lesbian in the cycle.
  • via top-model.tumblr.com

  • Aside from Laura’s red, white, and blue mess of a hair, I think this make-over made everyone looked better. It’s a shame that Louise threw a fit. She had the best haircut in my opinion. Very reminiscent of Linda Evangelista.

Models Remove their High Heels at Runway at Melbourne Fashion Festival

via ninemsn.com.au

Let me start by saying that I feel bad for thinking that this is a publicity stunt. But I just can’t help it. There’s Jordan Dunn tweeting about Kanye West‘s shoes and models being escorted out of the runway for Giuseppe Zanotti shoe emergencies just to name a few. And given that these impossible-to-wear, sky-high, 6 inch heels are a hot topic in fashion today, the timing of models removing their shoes on the runway is just too… timely. But publicity conspiracy theories aside, I like that this simple act of removing shoes draws attention to these issues. You can view the Melbourne Fashion Festival here (sans models removing their shoes) and the bit where they foot their foot down on high heels, so to speak, here.

Believe it or Not: Snooki vs McQueen

via fashionista.com

To even mention Snooki and Alexander McQueen in the same sentence makes me cringe. Even more so after seeing the Jersey Shore’s attempt at referencing – and that’s putting it lightly – an iconic McQueen staple in her design. Although this is not the first case of extreme referencing in fashion (i.e Christian Louboutin vs YSL, Derek Lam vs Ivanka Trump, Karl Lagerfeld vs Pamela Love), this is certainly the weirdest so far.

Yes or Mess: Lucy Lui at the Tribeca Film Festival

via dailymail.co.uk

We all know Lucy Liu looks good in leather. Charlie’s Angels will always remind us of that, and Hercules too to some extent. She seems to be relieving her leather-wearing days in this Chadwick Bell dress and nude shoes at the Tribeca Film Festival for the premiere of her new movie Detachment.
